Targeting -mechanism of delivering an ad to placements (targeting by placement) or to audience (targeting by visitor) that fit to particular targeting parameters. Targeting has the potential to dramatically improve the advertiser's ROI

Another definition for targeting is:  forming audience for advertising campaign, based on selection of relevant advertising spaces (pages, advertising sites& ad formats at those sites) and potentially interested visitors.

Within Adgine.net targeting is applied to advertising campaigns’ profile. Targeting parameters for every profile are being set in the corresponding contextual menu named “Set targeting options”. New profiles are created without targeting parameters by default i.e. their creative are shown on all advertising sites for the whole audience of the network.

An example of targeted advertising campaign:

Within advertising campaign of an auto-holding there are 2 profiles containing identical creative, which advertise new model of car (having identical price identified for all regions in Euros), but with different geo-targeting settings for each profile: 1-st profile is targeted so that it’s creative are shown  for German visitors, 2-nd profile is targeted by France.  Accordingly, every profile has different landing page URL setting, leading visitors from two different countries to pages with corresponding information. Every profiles’ creative will redirect audience which fits to geo-targeting parameters to corresponding page and advertiser will be able to acquire statistics for the whole campaign and each profile (in this case – by regions).

Currently, Adgine.net supports targeting from advertisers side. Network operator has all targeting options available and may determine the list of targeting options available to his advertising network participants.
